How to Center your Project in the Stand
If the diameter of your project is the same size as the inside diameter of the stand than it will fit perfectly without a gap. But we make these stands so they will fit smaller projects. This will cause an uneven gap around the edge. If you do not like this uneven gap, then you need to put a "shim" in the bottom clips to raise up the project. See the before and after pictures below.
There are many ways to shim inside the clip. Wedge in a chunk of rubber, wood, cork or whatever. Trimming "bumpons" works too because their adhesive keeps them in place. Stack them to increase height.
Below is another way to shim inside the clip. The glue we suggest is a rubber style glue like silicone, RTV or E6000. They will give a softened cushy support. Height of the shim can be precisely controlled by trimming out any glue glue with a knife. Shim the bottom two clips and the sides if you choose.
|1) Wrap clip with painters tape because it removes easily
2) Fill cavity with E6000 Glue
3) Dry according to glue directions
4) Trim glue to proper height with a knife
E6000 Glue - Great glue for glass to glass. Also Great for gluing metal jewelry findings to fused glass, like barrettes or pins. Has a rubber constancy. Feels and works like Clear RTV (silicone rubber).
