The largest size vessel that can be made with a glory hole is slightly smaller than the diameter of the opening.

When propane is used, the glory hole uses a litle more than one gallon per hour. There is 96,000 BTU's in one gallon of propane.

Glory holes do not get hot enough to melt borosilica, just soft glass.

Glory holes seem to hold up pretty well. The bottom will eventually fill up with glass which you can chip out and patch in some new fiber. OR just leave it like we do with ours. (Were lazy)
